SAHIH BUKHARI IN ENGLISH

بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اﷲِالرَّحْمَنِ اارَّحِيم
Complete Sahih Al Bukhari in English

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him said in his final sermon:

" وقد تركت فيكم ما إن اعتصمتم به فلن تضلوا أبدا ، أمرا بينا ، كتاب الله وسنة نبيه "
And indeed, I have left among you that which if you hold fast to, then you would never ever go astray, clear things, the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (Peace be upon him).

We know how important the Quran is for a Muslim; each and every word of the Quran deserves to be pondered upon and it helps the Muslim increase their Imaan and get closer to Allah. The second thing Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) mentioned was his Sunnah, his example.

The Sunnah is preserved in the form of Hadith, authentically traced back to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). The words of the Prophet are also considered to be a part of the Religion and are a requirement to understand the Quran correctly.

Scholars of the Sunnah worked their days and nights to collect hadith and compile them. They spent their lives in the service of the Religion, to separate the authentic hadith from the ones that are not proven from the Prophet, peace be upon him.

The work of Imam Muhammad bin Ismail al Bukhari is the most respected compilation of the hadith. He travelled thousands of miles for this purpose. He had memorized over a hundred thousand ahadith; however, he recorded just over 7500 in his compilation of Sahih (sound) ahadith, named Jami’ as Sahih al Bukhari.

It has been translated into the English language by Muhammad Muhsin Khan and is widely available. The English translation of Sahih Bukhari is divided into 9 volumes. It is available for download for free from this page.

Summarized Sahih Al-Bukhari
In Imam Bukhari's 'Al-Jami-al-Sahih' (Sahih Al Bukhari) the Imam had recorded all the Sayings of the Prophet which he found to be genuine after thorough examination and scrutiny. He spent sixteen years in research and examined more than sixty thousand Sayings from which he selected some 7,275 Sayings whose genuineness and accuracy he established beyond the slightest doubt. Deducting duplicates, the Imam's collection contain about four thousand distinct Sayings. The text used for this Summary is based on Imam Zayn al-Din Ahmad ibn Ahmad al-Sharji al-Zubaydi (d. 893) the author of the abridged Sahih al-Bukhari [al-Tajrid al-Sarih].
